An ear-hook rather than a clip, built around the largest driver in QCY's open-ear range. Compare it across our earbuds and TWS.
QCY's other open-ear models clip onto the ear. The GTR2 hooks over the top of it, with a tri-hold structure bracing at three points. That is a meaningfully more secure arrangement under movement — a clip can shift when you run or turn your head sharply, and a hook does not. If the earbuds are for running, cycling or the gym rather than a desk, the hook is the fit to choose. The trade-off is bulk: a hook is more visible and less discreet than a clip, and it can conflict with glasses arms.
Open-ear designs struggle for bass because there is no seal to let low frequencies build pressure. The usual answer is a bigger driver moving more air, and at 14.8mm this is substantially larger than the 10.8mm in the C50 and C30S clips. It will not match a sealed in-ear pair for low end — nothing open can — but among open designs it is the one specified to work hardest at it.
Eight hours of playback per charge, the longest single charge across QCY's open-ear models, or six hours of calls. Total is 28 hours, lower than the clips because the larger earbuds draw more. Four microphones with beamforming handle calls, aiming pickup at your mouth rather than the street.

Yes, noticeably. A hook braces over the top of the ear at three points, so it stays put when you run or turn your head sharply. A clip can shift under movement, which is why this is the sport model.
It can conflict, since both the hook and a glasses arm sit over the same part of your ear. Many people manage fine, but if you wear glasses constantly the clip-style C50 or C30S may sit more comfortably.
It improves it rather than fixing it. Open designs have no seal, so low frequencies cannot build pressure in the ear canal. A 14.8mm driver moves more air than the 10.8mm clips, but a sealed pair will always go deeper.
Because the larger earbuds draw more power. You get eight hours per charge — the longest single charge in the range — but 28 hours in total against the C50's 35. Longer sessions, fewer of them between case charges.
No. IPX5 covers sweat, rain and a rinse under a tap, which is what running and gym use amount to. It is not an immersion rating, so keep them out of pools and away from showers.
