The ceramic head

Nano-ceramic blades stay sharp longer than plain steel and run cooler, which matters on a long cut — a steel head that heats up starts pulling instead of cutting. Ceramic is also less prone to corrosion, so rinsing it does not shorten its life the way it can with cheaper metal blades.

Length and speed control

A single button steps through the cutting lengths, rather than requiring you to swap plastic combs mid-cut. Two motor speeds let you slow down for edges and detail work and speed up for bulk removal. The ESM system is ENCHEN's anti-stick mechanism, intended to stop cut hair binding in the blade.

Power and safety

Rated at 5W on a 5V supply, charging in about 90 minutes. The R-type rounded corners on the guard are the safety feature worth knowing about — they are what stops the blade edge catching skin when you work around ears and the neckline.

Why a ceramic head rather than steel?

Do I need to swap combs to change length?

No. A single button steps through the cutting lengths, so you can adjust mid-cut without stopping to find the right plastic attachment. That is the main convenience over a basic clipper.

What does the ESM system do?

It is ENCHEN's anti-stick mechanism, meant to stop cut hair binding up in the blade. Hair clogging is the usual cause of a trimmer pulling, so anything that reduces it makes for a cleaner cut.

Can I use it on a beard?

It is designed for head hair, and the adjustable lengths cover most beard work too. For very fine outlining you may still want a dedicated detail trimmer with a narrower blade.

Can I return it if it does not suit me?
