Open-ear clips solve a specific problem: they let you hear traffic, colleagues and announcements while still listening to something. Nothing goes into the ear canal — the earbud clips over the edge of the ear like a cuff. If in-ear tips make your ears ache after an hour, this is the alternative. Compare it in our earbuds range.
The driver sits just outside the ear canal and directs sound inward. Because nothing seals the ear, you keep full awareness of your surroundings — genuinely useful when cycling or crossing a road. The trade-off is bass: without a seal there is less low-end weight than an in-ear pair produces, and at high volume other people will hear a little of what you are playing.
QCY uses a 12 × 17mm racetrack diaphragm, which is larger than the round drivers most earbuds fit and helps recover some of the bass an open design loses. Directional tuning keeps leakage down. Two microphones with ENC filter wind and background noise out of the outgoing side of calls.
5 hours from the earbuds and 30 hours in total with the case, over USB-C with fast charging. Bluetooth 5.4 supports multipoint, so the earbuds hold a laptop and a phone at once and a call takes priority automatically. Each earbud weighs 5 grams, with an IPX5 rating covering sweat and rain.

No. They clip over the edge of the ear like a cuff, with the driver sitting just outside the canal. Nothing is inserted, which is why they suit people who find in-ear tips uncomfortable after an hour.
Yes — that is the main reason to choose an open design. Your ear canal stays unblocked, so you keep full awareness of road noise, announcements and people speaking to you. Useful for cycling and walking.
Lighter. Bass at this size depends on sealing the ear canal, and an open design does not. The 12 × 17mm racetrack driver recovers some of it, but an in-ear pair will always sound weightier at the low end.
At normal volume, very little — the drivers are tuned to direct sound inward. Turn it up loud in a quiet room and someone beside you will catch some of it. That is inherent to open-ear designs.
The clip holds them on the ear rather than relying on a seal, which usually makes them more secure than in-ear buds during movement. The IPX5 rating covers sweat and rain.
