45dB of rated noise cancellation in a neckband is unusual — that figure normally belongs to over-ear headphones. Combined with a 10-minute charge that OnePlus rates for 20 hours of playback, the Z2 ANC is aimed at people who forget to charge things and still want quiet on the bus. Compare it with our other neckbands.
OnePlus rates the hybrid system at 45dB across a 3,500Hz range. In practice that flattens engine drone and air conditioning convincingly; conversation still comes through, which is true of every ANC product. Three listening modes are available — ANC on, transparency, and off.
12.4mm titanium-coated dynamic drivers are large for a neckband and are tuned with weight at the low end. Three microphones with AI noise cancellation handle the outgoing side of calls, working on what the person you are speaking to hears rather than what you hear. A 94ms low-latency mode keeps video and games in sync, which is close to the practical limit for Bluetooth audio.
OnePlus quotes 28 hours of playback with ANC off and 20 with it on. The fast-charge claim is the striking one: 10 minutes on the USB-C port is rated for 20 hours. At 29.2 grams with an IP55 rating covering dust and water, it is light enough to forget you are wearing it.

That is OnePlus's rating for the hybrid system across a 3,500Hz range, and it is high for the form factor. Expect it to work best on constant low-frequency noise — engines, fans, air conditioning — rather than on speech.
That is OnePlus's figure and it assumes ANC is off. With noise cancellation running you will get less. Either way it is enough to rescue a commute from a flat battery in the time it takes to get ready.
Longer battery, nothing to lose down a drain, and no case to carry. The trade-off is the band around your neck and slightly more bulk in a pocket when you are not wearing it.
The 94ms low-latency mode keeps audio close enough to the picture for mobile games and video. Competitive shooters will still notice a lag — no Bluetooth product fully matches wired.
Dust as well as water jets. That is a step beyond the IPX ratings that describe water only, and it makes it a sensible choice for dusty roads as well as sweat and rain.
